This afternoon, I stopped by Minuteman Press to pick up some business cards and a mailing they had printed for me. They’re always very friendly and helpful, and they do really nice design work. I spotted this yard sign to show Georgetown High School spirit. Anyone can buy one at Minuteman Press for $3, or you can get it customized for just $5. Love it!
Minuteman Press in Georgetown is on Leander Road, just west of I-35.

I was at the HEB grocery store in Georgetown, and I spotted these flowers at the front of the store. I couldn’t resist. Gladiolas are my favorite! Long and elegant. These are such a rich, vibrant red. Every day, they add a little more color to my dining room. – J.T., Georgetown, TX

Sue Hains with Artisan Surfaces has done several projects for me over the past 3 years. Her work is amazing! She painted a mural on my daughters wall, painted my older daughters room, and done a portrait of my horse and cat.
Sue is great to work with. She has an amazing attention to detail and listened to what I wanted and came through with a finished product that completely exceeded our expectations! She is a truly gifted artist and I recommend her to anyone wanting specialized painting done in the office, home or portraits of their beloved pets!

I do mosaics as a hobby, and I’m planning a project that will include three types of flowers from my back yard – blue plumbago, hot pink rock rose, and deep purple Mexican petunias. I had been planning on creating the whole thing out of stained glass, but it occurred to me that beads might work better to make the flowers. So I went to The Brazos Collection on Austin Avenue, just off the Georgetown Square.
What an amazing selection! Look how pretty my flowers are going to be. I’ll cut the leaves out of stained glass, which should set off the beads beautifully.
While I was in The Brazos Collection, I discovered that they offer free beading classes – no catch! In the class, you learn how to bead a necklace, earrings, and a bracelet. When the class is over, you can buy your jewelry if you want to, but there’s no obligation. If you don’t like them, you can leave them on the table and walk out with your newfound knowledge. But if you do decide to purchase them, you’ll be surprised by how affordable they are.
Classes are held regularly on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and you can make appointments for other times. Ages 12 and up. Lots of one-on-one attention, since the class size is kept very small.

Adi’s Italian Village, a new Italian restaurant, opened on the Georgetown Square, at the corner of 7th and Austin Avenue, so I met a friend there for lunch this week. I had the eggplant parmigiana. My friend had chicken parmigiana and a taste of the lasagna. All the food was delicious. The eggplant breading was nice and crunchy, and the tomato sauce was delicious. The prices were reasonable, too. Each of us paid $12.00 for lunch, including the tip. (We had water. We weren’t in the mood for tea, and they won’t have soda until next week.) I’ll definitely return! They had fun Italian murals painted on each of the walls. Really cute, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
